This Privacy Policy explains how Salute Translations SAS (‘we’, ‘us’), a translation and interpreting practice registered at 4 Imp. Jules Rousseau, 94340 Joinville-le-Pont, France, collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit salutetranslations.com, request a quote, or place an order. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
§ 02
We collect: your name, email address and phone number (when you send an enquiry or place an order); your postal address (only if you order a service with postal delivery); the content of documents you send us for translation, which may include personal data about you or third parties; order and payment records (excluding card details — no card details are collected through this site; see our Terms & Conditions on payment); and, if you consent, analytics data about how you use this site (see below).
§ 03
We process this data to: provide a quote and deliver the translation, interpreting or related service you order; respond to your enquiry; meet our accounting, invoicing and legal obligations; and, with your consent, understand how our site is used so we can improve it. The legal bases we rely on are: performance of a contract (processing your order), our legitimate interest (responding to enquiries, running our business), legal obligation (invoicing, accounting records), and consent (analytics cookies).
§ 04
We keep order and invoicing records for 10 years, as required by French commercial and tax law. We keep enquiry-form messages and the documents you send us for translation for as long as needed to complete your order and answer any related query afterward, and delete them once that need has passed — for most orders, no more than 12 months after delivery, unless you ask us to keep a document on file for a related future order. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
§ 05
We do not sell your data. We share it only with: the translator(s) and reviewer(s) working on your document, bound by our confidentiality commitment; postal and courier providers, if you’ve ordered a service with postal delivery; our accounting and invoicing tools, to the extent needed to issue and record invoices; and, if you’ve consented to analytics, Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited). We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third-party marketers.
§ 06
This site uses essential cookies (to run your cart, checkout and cookie preference) that are always active, and — only with your consent — Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage. Analytics cookies do not load until you accept them in the cookie banner or preferences panel; you can withdraw consent at any time from ‘Cookie settings’ in the footer, and your choice is remembered on this device. § 07
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct it if it’s inaccurate; ask us to delete it; ask us to restrict or object to certain processing; ask for a copy of your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (such as analytics cookies). To exercise any of these rights, email support@salutetranslations.com. We’ll respond within one month. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés), 3 Place de Fontenoy - TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, or at cnil.fr.
§ 08
We limit access to your documents and personal data to the translator(s), reviewer(s) and project manager assigned to your order. Documents are transmitted and stored using standard encryption in transit. We’re glad to answer a specific security question by email before you send sensitive material.
§ 09
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the last revision. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be highlighted on this page.
